ONE OF INDONESIA’S FINEST LOCATIONS
This quiet beach will steal your heart away with its rich igneous sand from the volcanoes that formed the islands.
Unlike the tourist-ridden beaches of Lombok, Nipah is relatively untouched by heavy commercialism. A typical sight is locals who arrive in the late afternoon to watch the spectacular sunsets. Cozy shacks are found around the beach with fresh-caught fish grilled vegetables to perfection.
Gentle waves make this spot a great one for swimming, even with children. Snorkeling here is a dream with clean water and all kinds of interesting sea life, including sea turtles, clownfish, and some coral too. Coral often makes it hard to swim on other beaches, but on Nipah, you can enjoy both. If you’re hungry it is worth visiting one of the many bamboo shacks along the sand, where you can choose your own fish, which is then grilled and served with assorted side dishes. So much to love and experience at beautiful Nipah Beach.
